I am a disabled combat veteran who served in the Army for 23 years. I retired in 2022 and have been trying to find out what to do. I got the opportunity to go to school for firearms and jumped at the chance. I received an Associates of Science in Firearms Technology and a Certificate of Firearms Technology—Handgun Specialist. I was a Unit Armorer for over 10 years and also went through the Army's Senior Gunner course. Opening a small business is something I always wanted to do. So what better way than to open a business with something I enjoy.

Currently I will only be open on Saturdays from 9 - 3. It will be by appointment only so that each customer has my full attention, and I can answer any questions that you may have. I am just starting this endeavor and am not going to quit my current job until I get a true feel of what type of business I will be conducting with gunsmithing, if it will become a full-time job.
A gunsmith is trained in a plethora of different skills. Repairs, upgrades, part installment, trigger work, part replacement, stock work, cleaning, engraving, blue/browning, protective coatings, kydex work, and much much more. A licensed gunsmith learns all of these skills to fulfill the requirements for the title "Gunsmith". It is up to the gunsmith to hone these skills upon graduation. Each gunsmith may limit their services based off of what they are comfortable with doing.
I have been around firearms almost my entire life. I spent over 20 years in the Army and took the Army Unit Armorer Course and the Senior Gunner Course. I was a Unit Armorer for over 10 years in 3 different units, responsible for the maintenance of millions of dollars worth of firearms, optics and accessories. I also have an Associates of Science in Firearms Technology, and a Certificate in Firearms Technology - Handgun Specialist.
Yes, you can clean it yourself. It is relatively simple to do a basic clean of a weapon. For a deep clean, it depends on how comfortable you are with doing a full disassembly of your firearm. If you are confident that you can fully disassemble it, by all means do so. If you would rather have a gunsmith do any form of cleaning, whether basic or deep clean, bring it by.
Everytime you fire the weapon, it is best to clean it. If you are a casual shooter and hit the range once a year or so, clean it at least once a year and put a thin coat of oil on it to protect it.
I was in the Army for over 20 years and worked with a lot of people that did "Special" stuff. And to honor the memory of one of my best friends who was in that field, I came up with this name.
Yes I can. Email me with the specifics of what type of transfer you would like and I can give more specifics.
The best I can do is cover your gun with a sheet, cut some eye holes out and try to teach it to say "Boo"
No. If your friend knows a guy, feel free to see him. You are paying for my experience and the many years of firearms training that I have.
